Rolling Stone Top 500! When the heck is OUR generation going to be worthy?

In a McDonalized world where tracks are recorded one day and then on the SAME day they can be pushed onto the radio, when do we have time to make hits? I was looking at Rolling Stone the other day and I stumbled upon the Top 500 songs of all time. I am not surprised by the songs that have been placed in such a prestegious category, however like Miss Jackson (if you're nasty) would say "What have you done for me lately?"

I find it hard to believe that we have the potential to top this list unless we have some superior muscial genius break through that revolutionizes music. Just like an episode of the Jetsons, music today wreaks of technology and less on the ability to play an instrument. The majority of this list was composed of timeless classics that had the stinch of blood, sweat, and tears each time the vinyl touched the needle.

Who is going to step up to the plate?

52. When Doves Cry, Prince

180. Hey Ya!, Outkast

256. Paranoid Android, Radiohead

290. Stan, Eminem featuring Dido

322. Fight the Power, Public Enemy

406. I Believe I Can Fly, R. Kelly

407. In Bloom, Nirvana

Waiting on my rocket to come....
