We're BAAACK!!!!!

It's been a long time I shouldn't have left you....without some dope sh*t to step to! Yes, yes I did! So what's been up? Someone tell me anything!!?!
We have a lot going on with the site this month. Thankfully to everyone who hits it up and leaves us love and support we are working harder to give you more material. This month is Artist month so we have lit some candles and dimmed the room for a more mellow vibe. Come check it out and let us know what you feel.

Now back to the lecture at hand...lol I have been discovering a lot of new music that has been what some would call an eye opening adventure. Recently I have also met some interesting people who have made me believe in the power of music. Music provides a release of emotion for people participating in the creation as well as those blessed by its presence. This month I am intrigued by what seems to be a similar wavelength reverberating between a couple of artist.

Michael Franti

This is an artist that I have recently discovered and in the same breath I have recently been blown away by. Often times we are not given the proper nutrients to sustain life. By that I mean that along the way we have lost the most important universal message of just living life with open heart and love.

Kaiser Cartel

I don't know what to say but I just love this band The amazing melodies Courtney Kaiser & Benjamin Cartel. Seriously a band with only two people?? This is pure music that started as a crazy road trip with a car full of instruments and barely an idea as of what to expect.

One love!

Rolling Stone Top 500! When the heck is OUR generation going to be worthy?

In a McDonalized world where tracks are recorded one day and then on the SAME day they can be pushed onto the radio, when do we have time to make hits? I was looking at Rolling Stone the other day and I stumbled upon the Top 500 songs of all time. I am not surprised by the songs that have been placed in such a prestegious category, however like Miss Jackson (if you're nasty) would say "What have you done for me lately?"

I find it hard to believe that we have the potential to top this list unless we have some superior muscial genius break through that revolutionizes music. Just like an episode of the Jetsons, music today wreaks of technology and less on the ability to play an instrument. The majority of this list was composed of timeless classics that had the stinch of blood, sweat, and tears each time the vinyl touched the needle.

Who is going to step up to the plate?

52. When Doves Cry, Prince

180. Hey Ya!, Outkast

256. Paranoid Android, Radiohead

290. Stan, Eminem featuring Dido

322. Fight the Power, Public Enemy

406. I Believe I Can Fly, R. Kelly

407. In Bloom, Nirvana

Waiting on my rocket to come....

Moments and Melodies AND the Groogrux king

So while surfing the web I realized that I stumbled upon a topic that was pretty interesting.
In such a fast paced music world it is hard to remain true to some aspects of the artistic creation process of an album. I was reading that Mr. Dave Matthews drew the album art for "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King". I am really impressed because first of all I did not know he even liked to draw, and secondly the artwork is so detailed. I would love to see more of this! Originality, talent, and pride in what you are doing and expanding your mind to the fullest artistic potential.

Rolling Stone

Of course I would be a moron if I didn't acknowledge the fact that my favorite band in the entire world has been doing this for some time. I have always admired the work of Brandon Boyd because he has always been talented beyond this world. I am sure there are a number of bands out there that are self sufficient like this and that there are a number of talented people beyond muisc. I think that this shows a sign of brilliance and that this keeps your mind living beyond its means, which is amazing to me!

The Next Generation

OK, so I thought that I would post this because I believe in change. I love the new direction that music is going, the lines that are being crossed, and boundaries that are virtually being erased right before our eyes. The Black Eyed Peas have always been on the next plateau, and above the understanding of a lot of people in relation to hip hop. I love this new song and it makes them hard to put in a neat little box and categorize.
